ADVOCATING FOR ANIMALS AT SAN FRANCISCO ZOO
ADVOCATING FOR ANIMALS AT SAN FRANCISCO ZOO
Currently the San Francisco Board of Supervisors has a damning report about the Zoo in their hands.
Now they need to hear that voters and city residents want serious changes at San Francisco Zoo.
Dear Board of Supervisors
The problems at the zoo have gone on long enough. Please implement the Commission’s recommendation to transition the zoo to a rescue facility.
I urge you to create a Board-appointed “Zoo Oversight Commission” to ensure animal welfare is the top priority at the zoo.
Its time phase out all of the exhibits built in the 1940’s, this is a zoo not a historical site.
The Zoo has plenty of land to build on. It is time to develop bigger, better and safer enclosures for the animals starting with the Great Apes.
Please ensure the zoo commits to taking care of animals for life instead of shuffling them around from zoo to zoo.
The city’s reputation and our zoo animal’s welfare rely on your swift action.
Thank You
